Griptex is Furlong's safety-focused vinyl — the one to choose where slips are a real concern. It carries a PTV (Pendulum Test Value) of +36, which classifies it as "low slip potential," making it one of the safest sheet vinyls on the market. That makes it ideal for bathrooms, wet rooms, kitchens, utility rooms and anywhere used by older or less steady people. Unlike a true commercial safety floor it doesn't have a heavily aggregated surface, so it still looks and feels like a domestic floor.
It's also one of the more sustainable choices here. The unique patented textile backing is made from recycled plastic bottles and is 100% recyclable, and its looselay technology reduces the need for adhesive and minimises subfloor preparation. That backing makes it comfortable and warm underfoot with excellent acoustic qualities (16 dB) — well suited to townhouses, terraces and apartments where impact sound matters.
Griptex comes in 20 decors spanning realistic wood plank, tile, stone and plain, so you can run a different look through every room while keeping the same safe, warm floor underfoot. At 2.9mm thick with a 0.35mm GRIP'X-treated wear layer, it's rated EN ISO 10874 Class 23–31, suitable for underfloor heating, and backed by a 12-year warranty. Available in 2m, 3m and 4m widths.
